That'd be great, Mark, I would enjoy that.
I tried to install Doom 3 on Ubuntu Edgy, and though I was successful to
start the game in Linux, the sound is garbled to the point that
something is seriously wrong, and the game will freeze up. Maybe I have
to install Realtek's own linux audio drivers, but I'm not really sure
how to do that. I have noticed other arcade style games are giving me
the same problem.
I definitely like Doom3 and Unreal Tournament 2004 (especially when I am
playing the machine's own killable bots). In a real tournament,
everybody's jumping up and down and all over the place, and I end up as
dead-meat fairly soon. But I'd rather be fragged by friends.
best,
Chris W.
